Earlobes can develop large holes that could be annoying with or without earrings. It’s the brunt that the earlobe has to take from long hours of constant weight of ear rings.
Ageing and weightloss can also lead to a floppy earlobe that might need a reduction.
There are various procedures to give a contoured earlobe. Since they are done in a office setting under local anaesthesia. it also means its a walk in and walk out procedure.
Quote can be given on photos alone although we recommend a consultation to understand the procedure and answer your questions.

Cost | $ 750 for one and $1000 for both ears on average |
2 good quality photos of each earlobe

Consultation can be organised in the morning of the procedure.
We want you to arrive 30 minutes before the procedure. Blood tinners if any should be stopped 10 days prior to the procedure.
A very tiny needle is used to make your earlobes numb by injecting 1-2 ml of local anaesthetic solution. Measurements are taken of the part to be excised.
Earlobe reduction – Excess skin from large and floppy earlobes is excised and edges sutured carefully with tiny sutures to maintain contour
Excision and repair – This procedure is for the elongated earlobe hole. Surgery involves excision of the enlarged hole and fine suturing. The sutures go on the front and back of the earlobe
Anaesthetic will last for 10 hrs.and you may need just neurofen tablets for pain relief thereafter. |
We recommend someone to take you home. Office work and other normal work can be resumed from the next day. |
We will see you in the clinic after 7 days for removing the stitches . If the earlobe hole is reduced surgically, we advice to start using earrings 4 weeks after the procedure. |
Apart from general complications of any surgery viz. bleeding , infection and pain , you should be aware of some specific complications to the procedure.
Specific complications –The scar remains pink and red for the first 2 months and then starts fading . After 6 months to a year it is almost unnoticeable
4 weeks after the repair
Yes , Earlobe repairs are not just for enlarged earlobe holes. Ageing will sag your earlobe skin which can be excised to give you a youthful earlobe.
